The end of one chapter and the start of another.

2015 is almost over

Closing one chapter and starting another.

2015 was a crazy year for me. As I blogged about before, I was ready to quit writing. I was ready to just go back to work and step away from it all.

Obviously that didn't happen.

If there was one thing I learned in 2015, it was that being positive is the most important thing you can do.

I was always looking at the negative, complaining when I could, ranting, putting it all out there on social media.

And I realized that nobody really likes that person and I didn't even like myself.

It took another cross country move and two back-to-back book releases for me to realize that.

2015 was the year that Magan realized she was a bitch and had to remedy that.

2016 is going to be the year of positive town!

I wont complain about my wrists hurting from carpal tunnel or if I have a slow month. Instead I'll look at what I've already accomplished and how to boost the next release.

In 2015 I published The Only Way and ended the My Paper Heart series with A Paper Trail and These Paper Walls. We also saw the beginning of the Forever Sweet series.

In 2016, the last four books in the Forever Sweet series will be out, along with the start to the Friendship, Texas series, the end of The Only series, annnnnd two big surprises that will be revealed later.

I'm trying to be positive and write more, buuuuut my space bar is sticking and it may need to be cleaned. My kids also threw play doh at me.

Have a great new year, people. See you soon!

2012 and looking to 2013

2012 was one heckuva a year for me publishing wise and personal wise.

* I published four books

*Made some new friends in The Indelibles and the girls of NA Alley

*Redesigned my book covers with help from Steven Novak

*Made enough from writing that it paid for my daughter's daycare and all writing expenses

*Finally saw the New Adult genre take flight (after sitting on an NA manuscript for almost 3 years).

And then there was the personal stuff...

*Started a new job that was a pay raise, but changed my work hours completely

*Found out I was expecting my second child

But there is even more excitement coming as I look forward to 2013!

*Publishing a New Adult Stand Alone, THE ONLY EXCEPTION (April)

*A second novel in The My Paper Heart saga

*A science fiction young adult novel (hopefully before years end)

*The birth of my second daughter

*Hopefully keeping up more with this blog

*Praying the market isn't saturated with New Adult and science fiction and you all still want my stuff!

What are you looking forward to in 2013? Are you glad 2012 is over?

My Dreams for 2012

On the radio this morning I heard that many Americans were saying 2011 wasn't a great year for them and they look forward to a better 2012.

To that I say, "When life hands you lemons sometimes you have to say screw the lemons and bail!"

In all seriousness, 2011 was pretty good to me. I got a new job, had a beautiful daughter, and oh did I mention I released How to Date an Alien which has been steadily hanging around Amazon's best seller list for awhile?

Anywhoo, I guess it is time to talk about the future. What things do I have up my sleeve for 2012?

Well in writing news you can look forward to:

-A story from Ace's point of view will be in an anthology released on Valentine's Day

-In January a great group of authors will announce a not-so-secret group project-secret-group (did that make sense?)

-Spring/Summer of 2012 The second alien novel will be released

-Winter of 2012 the third and final novel of the My Alien Romance series will be released.

After that who knows what will happen? Maybe the traditional publishing industry will stop ragging on Indies and maybe a real alien will call me out on a talk show and say that my book is completely bogus.

Who knows?
