I love Cinderella Stories.

There are so many of them and so many people think they are just fairy tales.

For those of you that don't know; I LOVE college sports. I have been watching the NCAA basketball tournaments like it's the best thing I've ever seen on TV. To watch so many underdogs win these games has been AMAZING. Lastnight University of Northern Iowa (who is in my college's conference) beat the number one overall Kansas. If that's not a David v. Goliath Cinderella story then I don't know what is.

How someone can't be inspired by watching these games is beyond me. Just watching these games makes me think of all the underdogs that have overcame and how they were able to fight back just really gets me going. (I sound like a sport's nerd now.) Think about it. How many times have we been told that fairy tales are just that, tales that don't come true? If a little old school like Northern Iowa can beat out a big, high-ranked school like Ku, then why can't we all acheive our big dreams?

It's a small little note. I know. But Gonzaga is about to play Syracuse and I need to concentrate!

  1. I've never watched a basketball game in all my four years at Berkeley but I saw them play the other day, and even though I'm not the biggest sports fan, I had some huge GO BEARS pride! The bad thing with Cinderella stories is that I always feel bad for the loser, even if it is Goliath. It makes watching sports a little painful. I'm not made for sports but I don't mind watching every now and then.

  2. I had never actually paid attention to a single sporting event till I met my Fiance. It kind of shows that it has now become a pretty regular part of my week. The fact that I have a couple good picks in Brackets doesn't hurt either. I think any Cinderella story gives hope, but then you wonder what does happen to the wicked step mother? Or Goliath? Interesting story concept...haha.

You should leave me a comment. It would probably make me smile and then I will probably comment back. Unless you are a spambot. Then I will probably just ignore you.
