My Literary Crushes

For today’s Writerly Wednesday I thought I should drool over my literary crushes and then think back to why I drooled over them and apply that to my WIP…okay actually I just want to talk about hot literary boys and you really can’t blame me for that.  Annnd you all get to see pictures of how I pictured these character in my head.  Note:  These may not be how you pictured them or how they’re even described in the book, but it’s my head and I can do what I want!

Marcus Flutie: The Jessica Darling Series by Megan Mccaferty- Marcus Flutie will always be my first literary love. I remember walking through my high school library and finding the first book in the Jessica Darling Series SLOPPY FIRSTS, I’ve had a thing for dreadlocks on boys ever since. Marcus and Jessica may not have exactly the most typical of relationships, but I love that through the five book series you see their relationship grow and how Jessica and Marcus each grow as individuals throughout the series. AND they never got married in the last book, only back together so there is still hope for us! *hides from husband* *does really realize that he is just a made up character*

Patch: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick- Note: I ONLY like Patch in Hush, Hush because I think he was a jerk in Crescendo. There is something about the way that Patch's cocky attitude and dark eyes can draw a good girl into the dark side. Or is it the light side? Patch had that ultimate bad boy attitude that found a way to frighten and intrigue me all at the same time. I can't wait to see what he has for me in the upcoming SILENCE. (Yes, I KNOW he has dark hair in the books…but I picture him as a dirty blonde)

Luc Cain: Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers- If you want it to be good girl, get yourself a bad boy. Yes, I did just use Backstreet Boys lyrics to describe my affection for Luc. At first, I’ll admit, I wasn’t really into him and was kind of crushing on Gabe the beautiful blonde angel, but as the book went on and Luc took on this whole new goofy human quality…I just melted like a big puddle of demon goo. I won’t admit here if I’m Team Luc or Team Gabe, but if Luc still had those possession capabilities and maybe wanted to take me for a ride in his beautiful car…well I wouldn’t object. Sorry Frannie.

Summer Lee: That Summer by Sarah Dessen- If I had to just pick ONE boy from Sarah Dessen’s novels to crush on, it would be Summer Lee. With his quirky multiple summer jobs, lazy Alabama accent, and sandy blonde hair I just swooned every time he came onto the page. My literary crush became so instant that I found myself reading faster just to get to parts of the book that he was in. He may not have been the most stable of literary crushes and did cheat on the main character’s sister, but I can’t help but always be a sucker for some good ol’ southern charm.

William Killian: The Ghost and The Goth by Stacey Kade- If you've looked at older post you can see that I kind of have a thing for the misfits...the boys who don't always fit in and have dark hair and light eyes *swoon.* I also liked Will as a character, just from watching him and Alona's bantering back and forth I fell for him head over heels and immediately wanted to ask him out for coffee. Then I realized that he isn't actually a person and probably wouldn't be that much fun to go to coffee with since Alona would find a way to get everyone in trouble.

Now as I come down from my literary crush high...who are your literary crushes? Do they actually look like they are described in the book?

  1. I actually wanted to write a post like this one and might still do. So far my literary crushes include...

    Alex from Delirium
    Four from Divergent
    Luc from Personal Demons
    Patch from Hush Hush
    Alex from Angel (aka Angelburn)
    Alejandro from Perfect Chemistry
most of the male characters from Jennifer Laurens books
    Elder from Across the Universe

You know what? Lets just say the majority of male MC's in YA books and leave it at that, ok? LOL

  2. Thanks for including Luc. Team Luc? Team Gabe? I say why should you have to choose? ;p

Most of Sarah Dessen's boys leave me pining for them. Love Summer, but my faves are Will and Eli so far. Reading Owen next. =)

  3. Awww, thanks for including Will! :) Who is the picture of? That's pretty darn near how I see him as well, lol.

I just finished reading Cryer's Cross by Lisa McMann yesterday and Jacian...wow. He has a line of dialogue in there that I'm STILL thinking about! :)

  4. I'm with you I would date Patch in Hush,Hush but I would be so over him in Crescendo. Also I'm not sure about Silence because I'm still not speaking to either Patch or Nora! Still angry at Crescendo!

Now One Tree Hill Goodness I have not read That Summer by Sarah Dessen but if the guy is anything like MY Lucas I will start it ASAP!

I'll have to pick up the other books on your list. Great Post!

You should leave me a comment. It would probably make me smile and then I will probably comment back. Unless you are a spambot. Then I will probably just ignore you.
