Indie Kissing

Join the indelibles for an INDIE-kissing blogfest!

The best advice I ever got from an agent (Elana Roth) was that a first kiss can be just as hot as a first time. I've taken that advice for the last three years of writing and applied it to all of my books.

Now the big question, what book should I share a kissing or smexy scene from? Okay...I know the one you want, so am I going to give you the first kiss from The Only Exception? Or do I give you another scene...maybe they can just talk...

FINE FINE FINE!

And here it is for your viewing pleasure (Note:  You may want to stand near a fan because it's a little hot)

"Screw being polite," he mumbled just before he placed both of his hands on the side of my face and crushed his lips against mine. I didn't want to kiss him back. I didn't want to like it so much, but his lips were so soft, and his kiss so longing, that I couldn't help but get lost in it. This was the first kiss I’d had in months and it was well worth the wait.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and he deepened the kiss, his tongue easing its way into my mouth. He tasted even better than he smelled, like sunshine and peppermint. He was so delicious it was intoxicating. His hands slid down my back, resting just above my butt. I ran my fingers through his hair, tugging it lightly. A soft moan escaped his lips onto mine. I tugged his hair again and he slowly inched forward. I pressed my back against the couch, never breaking our kiss. For a guy that didn't believe in contraception laws, he was the most sensual kisser I ever kissed. If he was going to keep kissing me like that, he would probably need to start.

I broke the kiss slightly, nibbling at his lower lip. He moaned with pure ecstasy. Turned out I wasn't that bad either. I licked at the spot my teeth hit and then slid my tongue back into his mouth. He pressed his body against mine, running his hands up and down the curve of my hips.

I was so lost in the moment that when his phone rang from the coffee table I jolted, unhinging the kiss and knocking him off the couch, and onto the floor.

Now continue on with the hotness and check out some other blogs!

Want more of The Only Exception? Add it on GoodReads and get ready for it on April 9th!

Chocolate Chip Gooey Butter Cookies

To celebrate Karen G's Labor Day BBQ.  Not only am I participating, but I thought that I should share the recipe to my famous Chocolate Chip Gooey Butter Cookies that I am bringing to the BBQ.

Trust me you will love them!

And while your here, you can check out my blog, or go visit some of my fellow campaigners blogs!  I'll finally be catching up and visiting everyone's blogs this weekend.  Oh and I'm also going to have lunch with the FABULOUS GP Ching

So have a great holiday weekend and maybe make some cookies for yourself :)

*1 stick butter
*1/4 tsp vanilla
*1 egg
*1 eight oz cream cheese
*1 box butter cake mix
*powdered sugar
*1 bag chocolate chips

-Beat vanilla, eg, cream cheese, and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Mix in dry cake mix and chocolate chips, then chill in fridge for atleast thirty minutes.

-Roll into balls (about golf ball size or a little smaller, I usually place them on a sheet and make all of the balls first) and then drop into powdered sugar before placing on greased cookie sheet.

-Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.  Will make about 30-50 cookies.

Now I really want to eat some, droooollllll

Fake boyfriend blogfest

Amparo's blog is hosting a fake boyfriend blogfest.  So to honor the blogfest I have wrote a love letter to an oldie, but goodie...my former high school love, Angel.

Dear Angel,

First you left Sunnydale to go off on your own and do brooding vampire things like hang out with demons and then you decided to hide your true vampire identity and become an FBI agent.  But I’ve never given up hope that you would come back to your Angel-like ways and show the world what a real vampire looks like.

I’m pretty impressed with your evolution, Angel.  You went from playing with Buffy’s heart to hanging around a socially awkward anthropologist and NOT ONCE tried to bite her!  I’ve even seen you walk around in the sunlight and eat actual food.

Though I think it’s great that you’ve made progress in your vampire ways, I can’t help but miss the old brooding Angel that would make my heart swoon.  Sure, you still have those long, pondering stares that can make any girl melt as your chocolate brown eyes gaze straight into their heart, but it’s just not the same Angel!  I miss your inner Good vs. Evil struggle and the way I was always on pins and needles wondering what move you were going to make next.  You’ve gotten predictable and I miss your vampiric ways.

This is not a good-bye, Angel.  But maybe it’s time that we move on from each other.  I’m married now and my husband likes you as an FBI agent.  He doesn’t know the side of you that I spent my high school years watching.  So for now I think that it is best that we part ways, amicably, and maybe we’ll find each other in some dark teenage night club and I can be the one to get your leather jacket instead of Buffy.

Xoxo

Magan Vee.

No Kiss Blogfest

Over at Frankie's blog she is hosting a No Kiss Blogfest, and since I love the built up tension that YA has a way of doing with almost-kiss scenes I knew I had to participate!

Originally I was going to post something from HOW TO DATE AN ALIEN, but now that it's in it's close to final revision stages and I'm searching for representation soon...I thought it would be better to start keeping that under wraps until it's found it's publishing home (hopefully...er...).

So instead I decided to share a little bit of this for fun project I've been working on called IMPERFECT (more info under my Writing tab).  To set the scene, Jay has just picked Lia up from school and they are back at his cabin, (keep in mind this is also the first draft!)

****************************************************************

I think his bedroom was even bigger than my parents, so I figured it must have been the master. We were greeted by the bright afternoon sun that poured in through the floor to celing windows and French doors that led out to a huge balcony. I tried my best to notice everything, but the giant bed that sprawled across an entire wall and sat directly across from a large brick fire place. It looked like it could have been a scene from any girl's fantasy…if she wasn't wearing granny panties and not really sure if she had shaved her armpits that morning or not.

"Oh is that a kitchen in your bedroom?"

I quickly paced over to a large oak island that was equipped with a stainless steel stove and refrigerator.

"I think it's more of a wet bar than anything…" Jay slowly approached the bar, running his fingers over the granite counter top.

Did he really have to make a wet reference?

"Uh…so… this is where you stay? Pretty nice." I drummed my fingers on the counter top, trying to lean my body back as far as I could. I couldn't deny that I was attracted to him, okay I was really wanting to throw him down on his satin sheets, but I had to have some restraint and you can't just throw down a gold medalist. I saw him do that 360 too, he was a lot more flexible than me.

"Yeah we used to come over to Colorado all the time when I was a kid that's how I switched from skateboarding to snowboarding." He leaned against the counter, "So when coach said we should stay here awhile to train I couldn't resist."

He smiled, bumping his knees with mine. "And I heard they have pretty cute waitresses in this area."

"Nguhhhhhhhhh." Dangit, why did I always have to make that stupid noise.

"Are you hungry?" He went to the other side of the counter and knelt down. I guess he was trying to pretend like my weird noise never happened.

"I guess…" I leaned over the counter, trying to see what he was doing.

He popped back up and almost nailed me in the face with his dreadlocks.

"Oh..whoa…sorry about that." His face was just inches from mine. I could smell the oils in his hair and swore that I could even see his chapstick lines.

"I have S'mores pop tarts." He batted the box back and forth in his hands before setting it to the side of him.

"But I'm not sure how interested I am in them anymore…" He slowly slid around to the other side of the counter, so that he was facing me, toe to toe.

I couldn’t speak, I even had to focus just to make sure that I was breathing. I could literally feel the heat radiate off of him as he leaned into me. I really wanted to kiss him, but I didn't want to seem desperate and what if I did it wrong and got to sloppy and he made me walk home down the mountain? I gripped the counter behind me for support before he placed his hands on either side of mine.

"You know, Lia, you're definitely different than other girls that I've met back in California…" His words were practically a whisper.

"You probably say that to every girl that you bring back to your place…" I looked down, trying to not meet his eyes.

"No…" He slid his right hand down from the counter and let his fingers tip toe down till they reached the small of my back. He leaned his head to the side has he moved closer, I could feel his heart beating against mine and feel the vibration of his lips on my neck as he spoke. "That's actually the last thing I would say to another girl."

I felt his eyelashes flutter as he moved his head upwards so that I could almost taste his words.

You catholic girls start much too late, aw but sooner or later it comes down to fate.

Shit.

Jay backed up as the vibrating of my phone jolted between us.

BLOGEST IS CLOSED, but our second winner has been picked!

Blogfest is closed today at 213 entries.

One winner has been announced and since some of you didnt' believe that it ended until midnight (maybe it wasn't supposed to), I did extend it with another winner.

How did I pick the winners?  Oh it's very scientific...  I had random.org select a random number and then I counted down the entries to get the number.  (i.e. I may have picked number 12 or something, but since some people had multiple entries it may have not been comment 12.)

And who is our second winner?
