Blogging Break

If there was one thing that being a writer prepared me for it's those sleepless nights as a new mom...unfortunately that didn't prepare me for not having much of a life other than caring for another human being.

So because of that I am taking an indefinite blogging break.  I'm going to try and update as much as I can (for sure there are two book reviews coming up), but other than that my Twitter and blog may be pretty quite.

Thank you all for being such loyal readers and I promise a contest is in the works for all of you to make up for it!

Upcoming Hiatus

There comes a time in every person's life in which they realize that they have a lot on their plate and one of those things may need to be put on hold...

This week I am 38 weeks pregnant, and for those of you that don't know, 37 weeks is full-term and 40 weeks is when you have the due date.  So basically I can go at any time and I hope that it's sooner rather than later.  As much as I'd love to be one of those people that tweets and blogs every detail of labor and delivery (NOT...*vom* sorry I think it's weird when people do that.  If you are one of those people, I apologize.  But it's not my thing.), I've realized that could take up some of my time as well as caring for a newborn.  So when that does happen this blog definitely won't be updated as frequently for awhile.

As if having a child wasn't enough I also decided to add a few more things to my bag of tricks...

If you've noticed on my blog and Twitter, it doesn't say 'office drone by day' anymore.  Yes, after 2 years of being in a support position I have accepted a new role in my same company, but it's definitely a step up.  I do Claims work for a major insurance company.  I won't say which one, but I can tell you that I do believe that we have the best commercials.  I start that new position as soon as I come back from maternity leave, so it's going to be a pretty busy summer.

I guess you all read this blog to hear about my writing as well...and you probably want to hear something about HOW TO DATE AN ALIEN.  Well right now it is in the hands of a WONDERFUL agent, I won't say who, but she's pretty awesome, and if anything comes up that is spectacular about this manuscript (agent, book deal, it catches on fire) then I will be sure to let you all know...maybe do a contest (okay there WILL be a contest when I get an agent and it will be epic).

So that's all for now.  Basically there will be an upcoming hiatus and I probably wont be blogging as much, but I'm trying!  I'm *hoping* for another Fangirl Friday this month and this Wednesday I do have my comparassion of the Kindle and Ipad.  So stay tuned and expect some great announcements this summer.

Holiday Hiatus

Maybe I'm just taking a Holiday Hiatus, so that I have an excuse to use another Lolcat picture? 

Okay...a little, but really I am going to be gone for the holidays.  To where?  Well my parents decided that it would be great to spend Christmas with my husband and I in Vegas so away we go!

I will miss all of you and writing, but if I'm going to be staying at Treasure Island then I really should devote my time to pirate training...I think it's only fair to the world!

I will be reading PERSONAL DEMONS (I was told my ARC of ORIGINAL SIN is on the way) on the plane ride over, so some reviews will be coming up after the holidays.  Oh and I guess since it's Writerly Wednesday I should talk about my WIP?  Well working with my critique partners has made my manuscript even more amazing than I would have ever thought...and now I'm afraid that aliens are preserving themselves in a jelly-like substance and never die, but that's besides the point.

I will be getting back late on the 27th, but will update everyone with pictures next Writerly Wednesday and various stories...oh and did I mention I'll be sharing a sweet almost kiss scene from HOW TO DATE AN ALIEN?

Yeah I'm participating in Frankie Write's No Kiss Blogfest.  I think it's an awesome idea and since almost kiss scenes are my favorites to read and write, I thought it would be awesome to post mine!  You can still sign up and then post yours on January 2nd...or just swing by and read about some mad alien to human flirting!
